About the Bangkok to Hua Hin Bus Route

Hua Hin is Thailand's most beloved seaside resort — a refined beach town with long sandy beaches, excellent seafood and a distinctly Thai (rather than backpacker) atmosphere. It is only 3–4 hours from Bangkok by bus.

Route Details & Travel Information

Hua Hin has been Thailand's premier domestic resort destination for over a century. The Thai royal family has a summer palace here, and the town has long been favoured by Bangkok's middle and upper classes as a weekend escape. Unlike Pattaya, Hua Hin has maintained a calm, elegant character.

From Bangkok, the most convenient option is a minivan from Victory Monument, which takes around 3–3.5 hours and departs very frequently throughout the day. Regular buses from Mo Chit Northern Terminal take slightly longer (3.5–4 hours) but are slightly cheaper.

Hua Hin Bus Station is on Srasong Road, within easy walking distance of the town centre and beach. From there, you can walk, take a short tuk-tuk ride, or hire a songthaew to your hotel.

Hua Hin makes an excellent day trip from Bangkok — depart early, spend the day on the beach or exploring the town's markets and seafood restaurants, and return in the evening. For a more relaxed visit, one to two nights is ideal.
